OCME Will Examine And The DA Will Coordinate
The Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner investigates deaths that are violent, suspicious or unexplained and performs autopsies and other forensic testing to determine how and why someone died. The office typically works alongside local police and the county district attorney while testing is carried out and official reports are prepared.
What Officials Have Said So Far
Authorities have not released the man’s name or any additional identifying details. Police and the district attorney’s office have said they will share more information when it becomes available, and Newport Dispatch noted that no arrests or criminal charges have been reported in connection with the case.
