After more than a decade of small plates and date nights, Borough in the North Loop is getting ready for its final service. The restaurant, which opened in January 2013, will close on June 28 after 13 years at 730 N. Washington Avenue. Jester Concepts plans to gut and revamp the space for Revival, the fried chicken and burger brand, shifting the block’s energy toward Southern comfort food and burgers while keeping Parlour’s cocktail den humming downstairs.

Jester Concepts announced the shakeup this week. According to the Star Tribune, the North Loop location will be Revival’s first full-time restaurant since the group bought the name and recipes last year. The new spot is expected to be full service with a full bar and will add Revival’s popular burger to its fried and hot chicken lineup. “They play very well off each other,” Jester co-owner chef Mike DeCamp told the paper about the upstairs Revival and the downstairs Parlour pairing.

Revival’s comeback

Revival launched in 2015 under Nick Rancone and chef Thomas Boemer and quickly built a following for Tennessee-hot fried chicken and a cult-favorite burger, according to early coverage. After Revival abruptly shut down several locations in January 2025, Jester Concepts stepped in to acquire the brand and its recipes, and the Revival food truck has already rolled back onto the streets ahead of the brick-and-mortar relaunch. Staff, timeline and the patio

Employees were notified of the change this week, and Jester says it is working to place staffers at other restaurants in the group. Parlour, the subterranean cocktail bar beneath Borough, will close for a week of deep cleaning and a furniture refresh before reopening on July 6, per the Star Tribune. During the facelift upstairs, the covered patio will be pressed into service for Parlour guests. Ownership is nudging regulars to swing through before Borough’s final night on June 28 to say goodbye and support the staff during the transition.

What changes to expect

Jester says the overall footprint will stay put, but the vibe will not. Borough’s gold-embellished mirrors and white subway tile are set to be swapped for beadboard, sunflower wallpaper and cozier booths under a redesign by Studio Grey. Borough, which Jester Concepts lists as established in 2013, will yield to a menu built around approachable Southern comfort food, featuring Revival’s fried and hot chicken, the signature burger and cocktails from a full bar. The group is betting the switch will widen the restaurant’s appeal in a neighborhood where dining habits have shifted since Borough first opened its doors more than ten years ago.
