Norwalk’s Civic Center Plaza is getting a serious breakfast upgrade, with Loaded Cafe and its bakery sibling My Panecito teaming up for a shared spot on the city’s main retail strip. The joint outpost is slated for 12241 Imperial Highway, putting morning coffee, chilaquiles and pan dulce directly across from Norwalk City Hall.
According to What Now Los Angeles, the brands revealed the Norwalk plans on Instagram and confirmed that the space will host both a full-service Loaded Cafe and a dedicated My Panecito bakery counter. The outlet notes that the Norwalk restaurant is expected to become Loaded Cafe’s 10th location and My Panecito’s fifth.
What Loaded Cafe Brings
Born in Long Beach, Loaded Cafe leans into a hybrid diner style that mixes classic American breakfast with Mexican staples, with a menu that runs from chilaquiles and enchiladas to French toast and sweet crepes. The concept has been steadily spreading across Los Angeles and Orange counties. Loaded Cafe details the brand’s origins and expansion as it rolls out new locations.
My Panecito's Bakery Case
My Panecito, the group’s panadería arm, focuses on conchas and a range of pan dulce, giving the operation a dedicated pastry angle. Its current lineup of shops includes Gardena, Orange, Placentia and Bell. On its site, My Panecito showcases its pastries and daily baking program, all of which are set to be folded into the combined Norwalk storefront.
Where It Will Sit
The Civic Center Plaza at 12241 Imperial Highway has been seeing fresh leasing activity and a light retail refresh, with more food-and-beverage tenants stepping in. The City of Norwalk’s Norwalk Now newsletter documents the center’s address and recent tenant shifts, while a LoopNet listing offers additional background on the plaza’s mix of operators.
An exact opening date has not been announced. What Now Los Angeles reports that the timeline remains uncertain and that it has reached out to the teams for more details. What is clear is that the Civic Center Plaza is leaning harder into breakfast and bakery offerings, and that Norwalk will get another all-day spot for coffee, plates and pastries once the doors finally open.
