A 22-year-old Orlando woman is accused of turning a late-night confrontation into a hit-and-run, reversing and then driving her SUV into a man early Tuesday after a dispute over his interactions with her girlfriend, according to an arrest affidavit. Deputies say the vehicle also slammed into two parked cars before the driver fled the area. Orange County deputies later arrested the suspect, who now faces charges of aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a crash.
What Deputies Say Happened
According to WKMG, deputies responded to 5300 Pointe Vista Circle shortly before 3 a.m. and found an SUV with a missing tire perched over a curb. The arrest affidavit identifies the driver as 22-year-old Winny Exume and says she confronted the man, accused him of "trying to talk to her girlfriend" and shouted, "I'm going to kill you." Investigators say she then warned, "If you don't move out of the way, I'm going to hit you," before driving into the man and two parked vehicles.
Charges and Legal Context
The affidavit states Exume faces aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash with property damage. Under the Florida Statutes, aggravated battery, including cases in which a deadly weapon is used, is generally classified as a second-degree felony. The state's traffic laws set out separate duties and penalties for drivers who leave crash scenes; section 316.061 addresses crashes that involve only property damage.
How This Fits a Pattern
Violent confrontations linked to driving and parking have drawn growing attention in Central Florida. Last December, a dispute that started on the road ended in a fatal shooting and a second-degree murder indictment, underscoring how fast tempers can escalate into serious criminal cases, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
What’s Next
Exume was taken into custody early Tuesday, and booking records list her at the Orange County jail, according to WKMG. Court filings and the county's booking log are expected to provide updates on any formal charges, bond decisions and upcoming hearings as the case moves forward.
