Oxford’s Candelaria Eatery & Cafe is getting a caffeinated sidekick. The restaurant’s owner is building out a sister spot, Salbio Coffee & Bites, in the storefront immediately next door, aiming to give locals a faster grab-and-go option that pairs with the existing Colombian kitchen. The setup will be a small counter in front of the current restaurant, and while work is already underway, the owner is not committing to an opening date yet.
As reported by What Now, Salbio is planned for 4060 Thomas St, Unit B01, directly adjacent to Candelaria. Owner Javier told the outlet, "We don’t have an opening date yet; we’re still working on the buildout." The report describes Salbio as a sister cafe that will operate right out front of the restaurant, essentially turning Candelaria into a two-in-one stop for sit-down plates and quick caffeine fixes.
Menu and hours at Candelaria
Candelaria Eatery & Cafe lists breakfast, smash burgers, sandwiches, fusion plates, and Colombian coffee on its menu, according to Candelaria Eatery & Cafe. Its online ordering pages show Monday through Saturday hours with a shorter Sunday schedule, and the restaurant offers takeout and delivery through major platforms. With that setup already humming, the new Salbio counter looks poised to lean into the morning and early-afternoon crowd that is already coming through Candelaria’s doors.
Local response and next steps
Online reviews are already giving Candelaria a boost: TripAdvisor shows roughly a 4.8 rating, with diners calling out the Colombian flavors and friendly service, which means Salbio will likely have a built-in audience from day one.
