Security staff at a Palm Beach condo say a late night sweep of the garage ended with a Fort Lauderdale man in handcuffs after he was allegedly caught rummaging through high end SUVs. Surveillance video reportedly shows the man slipping into a 2025 Range Rover and attempting to get into several other vehicles inside the garage at the Three Thirty Cocoanut Row complex. Officers later found unopened bottles of liquor and sports rackets in the trunk of one of the vehicles and booked the suspect into Palm Beach County Jail on multiple burglary related charges.
Members of the Palm Beach Police Department’s Burglary Strike Force were called to Three Thirty Cocoanut Row around 3:27 a.m. after building security spotted a man inside the secure garage and then found 26 year old Jeremy Garrett Duncans hiding near the dumpsters, according to WPEC. Police say Duncans first claimed he was there to make a delivery and had simply lost his house key. A search incident to arrest turned up a flashlight and a black glove in his pockets, while officers say a matching glove, a black ski mask and wire cutters were sitting on the front passenger floorboard of a gray Honda Accord that Duncans admitted he arrived in. A woman found inside the Accord was detained after a records check revealed an outstanding burglary warrant, and both the condominium’s property manager and the owner of the targeted vehicle told officers they intend to prosecute.
Surveillance Shows Garage Hop Among SUVs
Investigators say the surveillance footage captures Duncans stepping into the Range Rover with a flashlight in hand and trying the doors on a Ford Explorer and a Toyota SUV parked nearby. The episode is the latest in a run of thefts and break ins that have zeroed in on high end vehicles and resort style properties in Palm Beach County, following other luxury vehicle recoveries reported earlier this year, as WPBF noted in March.
Charges Filed And Case Still Open
Duncans was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of occupied burglary of a structure, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and possession of burglary tools, according to WPEC. Police say the condominium’s property manager and the owner of the vehicle seen on video have both indicated they will pursue full prosecution. The investigation remains active, and officers have not said whether they expect to make additional arrests.
Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Palm Beach Police Department’s non emergency line at (561) 838 5454, per the Town of Palm Beach. Police have not released further details while the case is still open.
