A December morning on Weber Drive ended in a gunpoint confrontation and now a long stint in state prison is on the table.

Brooke Manderson, a 36-year-old Port Chester resident, was convicted Wednesday after a jury found she forced her way into her ex-girlfriend’s apartment and threatened family members with a firearm during a Dec. 28, 2024 incident, officials said. The break-in and confrontation inside the Port Chester home left Manderson facing a slate of serious charges, including burglary, weapons possession and menacing. She remains in custody ahead of a June 30 sentencing date and could receive up to 25 years behind bars on the top burglary charge.

Prosecutors: Multiple burglary and weapons counts stick

Jurors returned their verdict on May 27, finding Manderson guilty on three counts of first-degree burglary, three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a third-degree weapons charge and multiple menacing counts, according to Daily Voice. Prosecutors said Manderson showed up at the Weber Drive apartment that morning demanding to see her former girlfriend, pushed her way past a family member who answered the door and then pointed a gun at both the family member and the ex-girlfriend before officers arrived, the outlet reported.

Police: Loaded 9mm with defaced serial number recovered

Port Chester police officers were called to the apartment at about 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2024 and said they managed to subdue Manderson after a brief struggle. Investigators recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number and nine rounds of ammunition inside the home. The weapon was found discarded in the living room shortly before Manderson was taken into custody, as reported by News 12 Westchester.

What’s next: Sentencing on June 30

Manderson has been remanded to the Westchester County Jail while she awaits sentencing, which is scheduled for June 30 before Judge Robert Prisco, according to Daily Voice. Prosecutors say the top burglary count alone carries a potential 25-year prison term. The case was investigated by the Port Chester Police Department with assistance from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Police, per the report.
