Proud Mary Coffee looks ready to double down on Austin, with a permit filing hinting at a second cafe tucked into a compact storefront on Guadalupe Street near Hyde Park. The Australian-born roaster’s possible new spot would join its existing South Lamar cafe and its roastery in Portland. Paperwork points to a roughly 956-square-foot space targeted for completion this fall, though the company has not yet publicly confirmed an opening date.
What the filing shows
According to What Now Austin, the company filed a permit for 4301 Guadalupe Street, Suite 100, listing the space at about 956 square feet with an expected completion in September. The filing describes a tenant fit-out for a cafe and would represent Proud Mary’s second Austin location. What Now Austin reports that it reached out to Proud Mary for additional information.
Proud Mary’s local footprint
Per the company’s site, Proud Mary already runs a cafe at 2043 South Lamar Boulevard in Austin and operates a roastery and flagship cafe in Portland. “We blend the innovative spirit of Melbourne’s coffee culture with Austin’s adventurous taste buds,” the Proud Mary website says, underscoring the brand’s all-day food-and-drink approach.
Guadalupe corner has seen turnover
The 4301 Guadalupe address previously housed The Parlor, a pizza-and-music venue that closed on April 30, 2024, according to Eater Austin. That closure left a stretch of leasable storefronts along the block, opening the door for small specialty operators to move in.
What to watch
For now, the permit filing is the strongest clue that Proud Mary is moving toward a Guadalupe opening. Updated city records, visible construction work, and any new signage at the site will be the clearest signs that the cafe buildout is underway. We will keep an eye on public filings and the company’s own channels for confirmation and any official announcement.
