Sunset Boulevard just picked up a fresh dose of Miami flair, with Pura Vida Miami opening a new outpost on the busy stretch near Sunset Plaza. The spot quietly began serving earlier this month and comes with indoor seating plus a sizable outdoor patio. Regulars of the brand will find the usual lineup of avocado toasts, açaí bowls and all-day breakfast, all served in a bright, plant-filled space.
As reported by Time Out, the cafe officially opened on May 7 at 8720 Sunset Boulevard and marks Pura Vida’s fourth California location, following Beverly Hills, Malibu and South Coast Plaza. Co‑founder Omer Horev told the outlet, "Los Angeles has been an important market and Sunset Boulevard felt like the right next step." The piece also notes that the brand now counts more than 50 locations across the United States.
Where It Landed
Commercial real estate records show that Pura Vida leased the unit at 8720 West Sunset Boulevard, a roughly 6,052-square-foot retail space that includes a ground-floor dining room and outdoor patio, according to Traded. The cafe takes over the former Tocaya space and sits a block from the newly opened Skims store, putting it on a particularly high-profile stretch of Sunset Plaza.
Growth Push Behind the Move
The West Hollywood debut follows a strategic minority investment from TSG Consumer last November, a partnership that TSG says is designed to speed up Pura Vida’s nationwide expansion. That backing has helped the Miami-born brand grow beyond Florida and establish more locations across California and other states.
Menu and Hours
The menu leans into health-forward fare, with signature avocado toasts, pasture-raised egg dishes, wraps, salads and grain bowls, as outlined by Time Out. The West Hollywood cafe lists hours of Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and offers pickup and delivery through its app and third-party platforms. The storefront is already live on delivery services such as Uber Eats.
What It Means for Sunset
Pura Vida’s arrival adds to a growing cluster of lifestyle and wellness-focused concepts along Sunset Plaza and nearby corridors, and the company says it plans to expand "thoughtfully" across California. A January press release from South Coast Plaza highlights that approach and notes that the brand prepares its food "without the use of seed oils," a point Pura Vida has emphasized as part of its broader menu philosophy.
The West Hollywood cafe is open now at 8720 West Sunset Boulevard, and the company has been posting for new hires and shifts in local job listings as it continues to staff up. We will be watching for any larger grand-opening celebration or special menu releases as Pura Vida builds out its Los Angeles presence.
