A longtime Milwaukee restaurant operator is lining up a fresh play for Story Hill, this time with a fully South American menu on deck, according to a newly published local business report. The planned restaurant, called Fiesta Latina, would mark a shift from the owner’s decades of experience in Mexican and broader Latin concepts to a lineup built around dishes from across South America. It is the latest swing from an entrepreneur who has worked Milwaukee dining rooms and kitchens for roughly 30 years.
As reported by the Milwaukee Business Journal, the menu "will span multiple countries and continents" and is expected to feature items such as bobó de camarão, a rich Brazilian shrimp stew. The project is still in the early planning stages, and the story notes that there is no firm opening date yet.
A familiar operator
The report used a photo credited to the Fiesta Garibaldi Group, the team behind a cluster of Fiesta-branded restaurants, chicken spots and taquerias across Milwaukee and the surrounding region. The group’s online listings highlight seafood-forward and family-style Mexican restaurants that have served as neighborhood fixtures for years.
Where it would land
Story Hill, on Milwaukee’s west side near Miller Park and Bluemound Road, is a corridor that swells with Brewers traffic and has seen a steady churn of Latin-focused openings and tenant changes. Local coverage, including reporting by Urban Milwaukee, has tracked how long-running restaurant spaces along Bluemound Road have been repurposed into new concepts over the years.
Labor history and context
The group’s growth arrives with a notable legal backdrop. A federal investigation led to a 2024 judgment ordering more than $442,000 in back wages and damages for workers at Chicken Palace locations tied to the same operators. The judgment, which cited failures to pay required overtime and minimum wages, was reported by WTMJ.
The Milwaukee Business Journal notes that neither permits nor a timeline have been made public. We will be watching city licensing records and any announcements from the operator as Fiesta Latina moves closer to an official debut.
