
Sunday afternoon on Ames Street NE turned into a crime scene when officers found a man unconscious and suffering from stab wounds in the 3300 block of the River Terrace neighborhood. Police said he was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries after officers responded to a report of an assault around 4:33 p.m. Authorities said the suspect took off in a gray four-door Mazda with unknown tags and had not been taken into custody.
MPD Leads Homicide Probe
According to WJLA, Sixth District officers arrived around 4:33 p.m. and found the victim unconscious but breathing. The outlet reported that D.C. Fire and EMS took the man to a hospital and that the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is leading the investigation. Police have not announced any arrests.
