
A quiet Sunday afternoon in Rockford turned tragic when a pedestrian was fatally struck at a residence near a neighborhood intersection, prompting a major response from law enforcement.
A van ended up stopped in the yard of the home, and crews placed a white tarp nearby as multiple law-enforcement vehicles surrounded the scene. Deputies have not released the victim's identity or the cause of the crash, and the case remains under active investigation.

According to FOX 9, the incident unfolded near the intersection of Elm Street and Ash Street in Rockford, in Wright County. Aerial footage from the station's SkyFOX helicopter showed several police vehicles clustered around a van in a yard, with a white tarp laid out beside it.
