A neighborhood crosswalk on NW Military Highway near Lockhill Selma Road turned dangerous Saturday evening when a 16-year-old boy was hit while using a marked crossing and taken to a local hospital with non-critical injuries. The driver, described by officers as a woman, briefly stopped, then drove off, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called around 7:50 p.m. to the 2300 block of NW Military Highway, and San Antonio police described the suspect vehicle as a 2023 Chrysler 300, according to KENS‑TV. Reporter Andrea Carden noted that the teen was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash and that no arrests had been made as of publication. Police said the driver stopped briefly before leaving the scene, and the department is treating the case as an active hit-and-run investigation.

SAPD's traffic unit is handling the case and is looking for witnesses, nearby surveillance footage and dashcam video that might help identify the vehicle or the driver. Investigators have not released the driver's name and have not said whether charges will be filed while the investigation is ongoing.
