Good BBQ Company, the veteran-owned Austin barbecue outfit that started as a food trailer, is packing up its pits and heading to Lake Travis Biergarten in Hudson Bend this summer, bringing brisket, ribs, and pulled pork to the lakeside crowd. The move gives the biergarten another resident smokehouse in its rotating food-truck row and pushes the brand beyond its East Austin trailer following.
According to Community Impact, the business plans to open at Lake Travis Biergarten this summer. The venue, at 3519 Ranch Road 620 North in Hudson Bend, is known locally for live music, pickleball courts, and a changing lineup of food trucks, and its listings play up the indoor and outdoor beer-garden setup for events and pop-ups. Lake Travis Biergarten frequently programs concerts and weekend events throughout the season.
What they will serve
The menu sticks to classic barbecue comforts: brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, and smoked sausage, rounded out with several sides and a housemade barbecue sauce. Founder Daniel Monplaisir, an Army veteran, built the concept around Texas and Southern-style smokehouse fare, and the business also advertises catering and a Founder's Club on its site. Diners can check the company website for the full menu and hours.
From trailer to biergarten
Good BBQ Company started as an East Austin food trailer in 2025 and expanded to a full menu by midyear, landing in local dining roundups. Eater Austin included the trailer in its openings coverage, and the brand has been building a following around its 12th Street location.
Management told Community Impact that the company is hiring staff for the Hudson Bend location and working to secure the necessary permits before opening. The Good BBQ Company website also lists catering and a jobs page, signaling that the business is gearing up both operations and staffing for the expansion.
