A deadly house fire shook a Sonora neighborhood yesterday, after first responders arrived to find reports of people possibly trapped inside and ultimately discovered a man dead in the home.
Crews were called to a residence along Lower Hillview Drive a little after 6 PM, according to CBS Sacramento. The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office said Cal Fire personnel searched the residence and located a 38-year-old man, identified as David Jacklich, dead inside.
Previous arrest reported
Days before the fire, Jacklich had been arrested in an unrelated case at a Sonora grocery store. The Modesto Bee reported he was booked last Friday on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony criminal threats.
Investigation underway
Investigators are still working to figure out how the blaze started. The Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office is collaborating with fire officials to determine the cause, CBS Sacramento reports. Authorities have not released any further details about the circumstances surrounding Jacklich's death.
