
Two men are fighting for their lives after a Thursday evening shooting on Cleveland’s East Side, according to city emergency crews. Paramedics raced to South Moreland Boulevard and Hampton Road after reports of gunfire and found multiple victims at the scene. Cleveland EMS transported two of them to University Hospitals in critical condition, describing one as a man in his 30s and the other as a man in his 60s.
Officials: EMS response and patient transfers
Cleveland EMS told 19 News that crews were sent to South Moreland Boulevard and Hampton Road on Thursday evening and took the two men to University Hospitals, where both were listed in critical condition. According to 19 News, the station has asked the Cleveland Division of Police for information on suspects or arrests, but authorities have not released any additional details so far.
Another incident on the East Side
The shooting is the latest in a recent stretch of gun violence on Cleveland’s East Side. In February, back-to-back East Side shootings left people gravely wounded and kept investigators busy across multiple neighborhoods, underscoring how often first responders have been called to scenes of gunfire in recent months, according to the outlet.

As of Friday morning, officials had not announced any arrests and had shared only limited information about what led up to the shooting, 19 News reported. University Hospitals’ Cleveland Medical Center, which received the victims, lists its main campus in University Circle and provides regional trauma care, according to University Hospitals.
