A Saturday evening shooting on a southwest Houston block left one person dead and another wounded, according to Houston police.
Officers were called out at about 5:57 p.m. to South Glen Drive near Court Glen, where they found two people who had been shot, the Houston Police Department told KHOU. One victim died at the scene. The second was injured, though police did not immediately release details on that person's condition.
Investigators worked the scene, then later cleared the area after their initial response. HPD said the case remains under active investigation. The KHOU report noted that the victims had not been publicly identified and did not indicate whether any arrests had been made.

The shooting adds to a string of recent violence in parts of southwest Houston. In March, an officer-involved shooting in the Gulfton area left an armed suspect dead and a Houston police officer injured, according to Click2Houston.
