San Antonio police are searching for 24-year-old Sebastian Terrazas Rodriguez after a road rage clash on the city’s Southwest Side left a neighbor shot and hospitalized in April, according to court records.
The victim, identified in court documents as Arturo Silva, was hit in the upper left arm and taken to University Hospital for treatment.
Officers were called to a reported “shooting in progress” around 8:40 a.m. on April 13, as reported by News4SanAntonio. According to the arrest affidavit detailed by the outlet, a witness backing out of a driveway tried to snap a photo of a truck involved in the dispute when the driver allegedly grabbed her cellphone. Witnesses told police that Silva, the neighbor who stepped in, was then shot while both he and the gunman were still inside their vehicles.
Road Rage Keeps Turning Ugly In San Antonio
The incident is part of a troubling pattern of traffic dust-ups in San Antonio that end with someone bleeding instead of just yelling. Local coverage, including a spate of road-rage cases tracked across the city, has highlighted episodes where bystanders and even children have been struck by gunfire.
How Police Say They Zeroed In On The Suspect
Investigators, according to News4SanAntonio, used a photo taken moments before shots rang out to identify Rodriguez. The image, captured by the victim, allegedly shows the driver involved. Police then linked that man to the vehicle through a January traffic stop and a statement from the truck’s registered owner, who told officers Rodriguez is his brother.
An arrest warrant charging Rodriguez with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first degree felony, has been issued, and the investigation remains active as officers work to track him down.
The case is ongoing, and detectives are still developing leads. For now, it stands as one more reminder of how a routine drive on San Antonio streets can turn violent in a matter of seconds when tempers boil over behind the wheel.
