Spectators Bar & Grill is gearing up to plant its fourth Houston-area flag in Katy, taking over the retail space at 25140 Kingsland Blvd., Suite 1000. Owners are eyeing a mid-May to June opening window and are promising a game-day, chef-driven menu that blends classic bar bites with full-on restaurant entrees. The Katy outpost will join Spectators’ existing Sugar Land and Richmond locations.
Manager Breanna Shapley confirmed the expansion, according to Community Impact. The report notes that Spectators will take over the former Scholars & Scoundrels spot, which shut down its Katy restaurant in December, and pegs the expected opening window as mid-May to June.
Menu and the vibe
Spectators brands itself as “an elevated sports bar,” with more than 50 screens, hand-crafted cocktails and a chef-driven menu featuring wings, pizza and restaurant-style entrees like ribeye, salmon and snow crab, according to the restaurant's website. The chain also lists weekday breakfast and weekend brunch on its menus, signaling that the Katy location is likely to court daytime regulars as well as evening crowds. Daily specials and game-day programming are part of the standard playbook.
Local footprint and timeline
As Community Impact notes, Spectators already runs two Sugar Land restaurants and a Richmond spot, and lists the Katy address as a coming-soon location. The mid-May to June target gives the team a short runway to finish buildout and hire staff before summer sports calendars and graduations start pumping up foot traffic. At the time of the report, Spectators had not posted a formal grand-opening date.
What to expect at opening
The chain’s locations page currently tags the Katy address as “Coming Soon” and points guests to the nearest Sugar Land and Richmond sites in the meantime. Once doors open, patrons can likely count on large-screen viewing areas, happy-hour and game-day food deals, and a mix of bar staples and heftier entrees. The arrival adds another full-service sports-bar option along the Kingsland corridor as that stretch continues to see turnover among casual-dining tenants.
