Sprouts Farmers Market is now officially in the Baybrook mix. The specialty grocer opened Friday in Webster, taking over a Baybrook Gateway storefront at 1001 W. Bay Area Blvd. and bringing its produce-forward layout plus a broad lineup of natural, organic and lifestyle-friendly groceries to the neighborhood.
Grand opening and early deals
According to Sprouts Farmers Market, the Webster-Baybrook store (Store #725) kicked things off with a 6:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting before opening the doors at 7 a.m. The grocer is rolling out a three-day grand opening set of promos for early shoppers, including free reusable totes and long-stem roses. The store page also touts pop-up sample stations, rewards sign-up offers and a chance to enter to win a $500 gift card during opening weekend.
Sprouts' Houston push
Sprouts told the Houston Chronicle that "Texas remains a priority growth market" and that the Webster area represents "a strong opportunity" to expand the chain's footprint. The Chronicle reports the Webster opening follows a Kingwood debut earlier this year, with additional Houston-area locations still on deck before year’s end.

Sprouts puts fresh produce front and center in the store and carries a wide assortment of natural, organic, gluten-free and plant-based products, according to Community Impact. The chain now operates hundreds of stores nationwide and employs tens of thousands of team members, per Sprouts, making it one of the larger specialty grocers currently growing its Texas presence.

The Webster Sprouts occupies a Baybrook Gateway space at 1001 W. Bay Area Blvd. that property listings identify as part of the Kimco-managed center, and Texas TDLR permit records show the location was built out from a former Party City tenant. That puts Sprouts directly across I-45 from Baybrook Mall and adds another option to the area’s grocery mix, turning up the competitive heat among national and regional chains.
