According to The Charlotte Observer, the State Bureau of Investigation identified the suspect as 52-year-old Timothy Alan Hoilman. The bureau said agents were executing a warrant tied to two counts of statutory sex offense with a child 15 years or younger and one count of statutory rape of a child 15 years or younger. Officials said Hoilman drew a concealed weapon as agents approached.
The State Bureau of Investigation frequently assists local departments on sensitive arrests, and investigative files are typically turned over to the local district attorney once the SBI completes its probe, according to WUNC News via Blue Ridge Public Radio.
