Steele Creek just picked up a new way to crush a late-night sweet tooth. Crispy Cones, the rotisserie-grilled pastry-cone chain seen on ABC’s "Shark Tank," has opened its first Charlotte storefront this month near the Charlotte Premium Outlets. The shop serves warm, sugar-dusted pastry cones filled with soft-serve, sauces and customizable toppings. Weekend hours stretch late into the night, setting the spot up as both an outlet pit stop and a dedicated dessert run. It also adds one more Instagram-friendly option to the Steele Creek retail strip.
As reported by the Charlotte Observer, Crispy Cones officially opened its doors on May 8, marking the brand’s debut in the Queen City. The outlet notes that news of the opening first surfaced on the company’s social media channels and that the chain already operates a location in Wilmington.
Where It Is And When To Go
According to the Crispy Cones Charlotte page, the shop is located at 8736 Outlet Boulevard in Steele Creek. Listed hours are Monday through Thursday from noon to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. The location page also offers online ordering for both pickup and delivery.
How The Cone Is Made
Per the Crispy Cones website, the treats are "hand-rolled dough cones that are made fresh and grilled rotisserie style," then coated in cinnamon sugar or specialty powders before being filled. Flavors rotate weekly, and the company says new cone creations debut every month, giving frequent visitors something different to try.
From Roadside Tent To 'Shark Tank' Boost
Founder Jeremy Carlson took the concept onto ABC’s "Shark Tank," where he landed a $200,000 investment from Barbara Corcoran, according to CNBC. The TV exposure helped accelerate the brand’s growth and national rollout.
What To Try
Classic chocolate and vanilla are joined by limited-time flavors like mango and cookie dough, and specialty combos such as "The Blondie" appear on rotation, per the Charlotte Observer. The Observer also notes that Crispy Cones now lists locations in more than a dozen states, giving Charlotte a spot on the chain’s growing national map.
