A few isolated showers may hang on into the evening, with overnight lows holding around 73-74°F, according to the National Weather Service. No watches or warnings are currently posted for Oʻahu.
Winds And The Week Ahead
Light land and sea breezes will keep winds fickle today before more classic trade-wind weather returns on Thursday and Friday. Northeast winds are forecast to ramp up to around 10-17 mph on Thursday, with gusts close to 23 mph, setting up the familiar pattern of windward and mauka showers. An upper-level disturbance this weekend could briefly bump up shower coverage, then steadier and breezier trades are expected to reestablish themselves early next week.
Surf And Boating
A moderate northwest swell is on the way down through Wednesday, while a new long-period swell from a gale south of Kamchatka is expected to build tonight. That will bring some fresh north and west shore surf Thursday and Friday, though it should stay below advisory thresholds. On the other side of the island, a small long-period south swell will keep south shore waves just a bit above normal through the end of the week. Boaters should keep an eye on marine conditions as winds and seas trend upward later in the week.
