An 89-year-old Pahrump man who initially declined medical help after a two-vehicle crash at the northbound I-15 off-ramp to Tropicana Avenue earlier this month has died from his injuries, authorities say.
The collision happened Friday, May 1, when a Kia Seltos and a Toyota Corolla collided near the Tropicana intersection. Both drivers reportedly turned down treatment at the scene. The driver of the Kia was later taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, May 10.
Crash Details
According to a preliminary investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol, a blue 2023 Kia Seltos was heading northbound on the I-15 Tropicana off-ramp when the driver ran a red light and entered the intersection in front of a blue 2022 Toyota Corolla. The Toyota's front end hit the right side of the Kia.
Troopers say emergency crews responded, but neither driver accepted treatment at that time, a detail first reported by KSNV. The crash remains under active review.
