Houston police said officers were dispatched around noon to an apartment complex on Calhoun Road near South Loop East, where first responders found the child unresponsive and pronounced the infant dead at the scene. Homicide detectives were notified and assigned to the case, and authorities say the cause of death has not yet been determined.
According to FOX 26 Houston, the call came in as a report of a child in distress at the Calhoun Road property. Investigators spent Saturday working the scene, but the station reports that few specifics have been made public so far, including the infant’s age or whether police are looking at any potential suspects.
