Polaris is about to get a new late-night hangout as Puttshack, the tech-driven indoor mini-golf chain, rolls into the Galaxy at Polaris with its first Ohio location. The roughly 12,529-square-foot venue is set to open on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, bringing a new option for nightlife and group outings just north of downtown Columbus.
The company says the Columbus spot will welcome its first guests at 4 p.m. on May 27 and will serve as Puttshack's 20th U.S. location and 24th worldwide, according to Puttshack. "Columbus continues to grow as a destination for dining and entertainment, making it a natural fit for Puttshack," CEO David Bagley said in the announcement. The company is also dangling an early sign-up perk: join its Perks program and you score a free nine-hole game during the opening period.
What's inside
Inside the 12,529-square-foot space, guests will find Puttshack's Trackaball™ technology, which automatically tracks scores and layers in interactive gameplay across the holes, plus three private Challenge Hole suites designed for smaller groups. On the food and drink side, the Columbus menu clocks in at more than 50 items, ranging from wings and burgers to flatbreads and signature cocktails, and this location will donate $1 from every order of churro dippers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, according to PR Newswire.
Hours, reservations and opening day
Puttshack Columbus plans to run Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and it will open to the public at 4 p.m. on May 27, Columbus Navigator reports. Guests can lock in tee times online, and walk-ins will be worked in based on availability. Early Perks members are encouraged to be ready to redeem their complimentary nine-hole round while the opening offer is active.
From a bigger plan to a leaner footprint
Puttshack first revealed its Columbus plans in 2023 with a lease for a roughly 25,000-square-foot, two-story venue at 2116 Ikea Way, according to a 2023 announcement from Puttshack. In more recent materials, the company lists a scaled-down 12,529-square-foot space at 8870 Galaxy Way, a shift that comes as The Galaxy at Polaris, described as a multi-acre mixed-use development, continues to add entertainment and housing to the neighborhood, according to a project brochure from Polaris Centers.
For Columbus locals, visitors, and corporate crews alike, the new Puttshack adds another late-night option to the Polaris lineup, along with built-in space for birthdays, date nights, and office outings. Expect those opening weekend reservations to disappear quickly, and the company is already nudging guests to book ahead and sign up for Puttshack Perks to secure the free game promotion, PR Newswire notes.
