Tampa Heights is set to get a fresh groove this fall as local restaurant and music figure Ty Rodriguez prepares to open the Peppermint Lounge, a vinyl-driven bar coming to Franklin Street. Rodriguez is already a familiar name around town thanks to his work with Rooster & the Till and his involvement in local festivals.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the space will be called The Peppermint Lounge and is aimed at a fall debut in Tampa Heights. The Times describes the concept as a vinyl lounge that puts records and music at the center, backed up by a focused bar program.
Rodriguez is co-owner of Rooster & the Till, and he has also helped shape food and beverage programming for the city’s Gasparilla Music Festival. A festival release lists Rodriguez in a food-and-beverage role, highlighting the mix of hospitality and music experience he brings to the new bar.
What Peppermint Lounge Will Be
The project is being pitched as a listening-focused vinyl lounge, with curated music programming and a full bar at its core. As the Tampa Bay Times reported, Rodriguez’s background suggests a record-first atmosphere paired with the kind of hospitality service locals already know him for.
Where And When
The Peppermint Lounge is planned for Franklin Street in the Tampa Heights neighborhood, with a target opening this fall. Details such as a specific opening date, operating hours, and the final menu have not yet been announced.
