Deputies: Suspect In Custody, Merchandise Recovered
In a Facebook update, Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 reported that Sergeant Pleytez had an adult male in custody after the incident at the Versace boutique in Houston Premium Outlets. According to the post, deputies recovered roughly 17 designer shirts with a combined value topping $11,000, and all of the seized merchandise will be returned to the business.
The same update states the man was charged with felony organized retail theft and was being held in Precinct 4 custody.
Not The First Time At The Outlets
The Houston Premium Outlets have seen more than one run-in with alleged thieves this year. KPRC Click2Houston reported a major sunglasses theft at the same complex in January, and a separate handbag theft at the Versace store was documented earlier this year.
Charges And Next Steps
The precinct’s online post identified the offense as felony organized retail theft and confirmed deputies had the suspect in custody at the time of the update. It also noted that bond and court information were not yet listed and that the investigation remains active.
High-value thefts like this can prompt retailers to reassess security and may lead to increased law enforcement presence at outlet centers. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact the constable’s office.
