
A routine midday drive turned tragic in Washington City on Thursday when a collision between a Ford Model T and a Ford F-450 towing a roughly 15-foot flatbed trailer left one man dead at the intersection of Rio Virgin Drive and Washington Dam Road.
Washington City officers arrived at about 12:46 p.m. and found a man unresponsive in the roadway. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
According to a Washington City Police Department press release reported by KSL NewsRadio, witnesses said the Model T was attempting a U-turn into the eastbound lane when it was hit by the F-450. People at the scene told reporters the driver of the Model T was ejected from the vehicle. Investigators are now working to confirm the precise sequence of events that led to the collision. The department said it does not suspect impairment of either driver.

Drivers who stopped to help and bystanders described a chaotic scene, with heavy damage to the older car and emergency crews quickly moving in to secure the area. Multiple witnesses noted the pickup was towing an approximately 15-foot flatbed trailer when the impact occurred. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.
