
A 35-year-old woman was stabbed after an argument inside a West Englewood home Wednesday night, according to Chicago police. The clash unfolded around 8:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Loomis Boulevard, and the attacker ran off on foot. The victim took herself to St. Bernard Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, the suspected attacker is a 40-year-old woman who pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the right shoulder. FOX reported that no arrests have been announced, and that Area One detectives are handling the case. Police told the outlet the argument started inside the residence before it turned violent.
WGN‑TV reported that investigators are asking anyone with information to contact CPD Area One detectives at 312‑747‑8380. The WGN account by Gabriel Castillo said detectives are looking for witnesses and any video that might show the suspect leaving the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
Violence on the South Side
The stabbing follows other recent violence in West Englewood, including an April 11 shooting that left three people injured, as reported by NBC Chicago. Area One detectives have been assigned to multiple cases in the neighborhood this spring.
