A quiet stretch of West North Avenue turned into a late-night crime scene early Sunday after a 36-year-old man showed up at a hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, sending Northwest Baltimore detectives back out into the night shift grind.
Shots fired, no victim on scene
Police say officers were dispatched around 12:40 a.m. to the 3100 block of W. North Avenue after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found evidence that a shooting had taken place, but no victim and no suspect at the scene, according to FOX45 News.
While officers canvassed the block, the missing piece of the puzzle walked into an area hospital. The 36-year-old man came in seeking treatment for his injuries, which police described as non-life-threatening. Detectives from the Northwest District shooting unit are now leading the investigation and working to connect what happened on the street to what turned up at the hospital.
