Arwa Coffee, a Dallas-born Yemeni chain, has landed in downtown Arlington with a roomy new outpost that mixes espresso staples, traditional Yemeni drinks, and a private jalsa floor-seating room. The shop is angling to become a go-to spot for UT Arlington students, late-night visitors, and downtown regulars who want a place to study, hang out, and grab a pastry into the evening.

As reported by CultureMap Fort Worth yesterday, the downtown location spans about 3,500 square feet and includes a private jalsa room that can be rented for events. The outlet will operate daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., giving the area another late-night caffeine option.

Menu and design

Arwa pairs classics like drip coffee and cappuccinos with Yemeni specialties such as Jubani, Qishr, and Adeni tea, plus signature items like the Yemeni latte and a lineup of iced refreshers. The brand keeps a consistent pastry case across its locations, including a signature honeycomb-style sweet bread, while some franchisees layer in extra treats from local bakeries. Arwa's site emphasizes Yemeni sourcing and roasting practices and lists jelsa-style floor-seating rooms at several stores; see Arwa Coffee's menu for details.

A downtown fit

Downtown Arlington’s official business pages now list Arwa Yemeni Coffee at 200 E. Abram St., adding a late-night, culturally distinct option to the Abram Street corridor. The arrival comes as downtown continues to layer in independent cafes, restaurants, and event programming, a pattern local boosters say reflects a broader restaurant and nightlife upswing. With its larger footprint and private jalsa space, Arwa is positioned as both a daytime study spot and an evening gathering place for the neighborhood and nearby campus communities; Downtown Arlington includes the shop among its downtown dining options.

“We take a lot of pride in how we design our stores. Everything in our spaces is intentional, the colors of the walls, the cultural details, it all ties back to Yemen,” co-founder Susan Soofi told CultureMap Fort Worth. CultureMap also reports the company has been expanding rapidly through franchising, opening multiple Texas locations, and signing additional leases out of state as it scales.
