After five years on Uptown's Oak Street, 14 Parishes has served its last plate from its brick-and-mortar restaurant, listing Sunday, June 21 as the final day of service. In a social announcement, the family-run Jamaican spot thanked customers, neighbors and staff and hinted that a new venture is on the horizon. While the dining room goes dark, the brand says it will keep serving New Orleans through its Likkle 14 food truck.
The news came in a social media post that, according to WWLTV, thanked "customers, neighbors, employees, artists and supporters" and also teased a "future venture." The station noted that the post encouraged followers to watch for additional details.
14 Parishes traces its roots to a stall at Pythian Market and later expanded to a full Oak Street location in 2021, the restaurant's website notes. That site also highlights the Likkle 14 food truck, along with catering and pop up work, as part of the group's operations.
Oak Street's changing lineup
The Oak Street closure comes amid a wave of restaurant openings and closings across the city, with Axios listing the Oak Street location among recent local shake ups. Oak Street's merchant directory shows a mix of long-running bars and restaurants alongside newer concepts, underscoring how quickly neighborhood storefronts can shift; see the Oak Street merchants directory for the current roster.
What's next for the brand
The company did not provide a timetable for a return to a storefront, saying only that it would "share more details soon" in the post, according to WWLTV. For now, the brand's website lists Likkle 14's mobile schedule and catering options as its primary ongoing operations, per 14 Parishes.
