
Two people were injured today after gunfire broke out on the westbound Interstate 94 near Dickerson Street in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police. Troopers said the call came in at about 12:55 a.m. Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and the westbound I-94 reopened before 6:30 a.m.

Freeway gunfire a recurring worry
In a statement, troopers warned that gun violence continues to impact our communities and put innocent lives at risk, as reported by WWJ Newsradio. Earlier this week, state police investigated a separate early-morning shooting on eastbound I-94 near Harper Avenue that injured a driver and briefly closed lanes.
