Superhuman, a San Francisco-based AI and productivity company, has signed a lease for space at 1000 Dexter Ave. N in Westlake, the company confirmed this week. The move gives Superhuman a physical foothold in Seattle's South Lake Union and Westlake tech cluster and puts it close to a growing pool of AI engineering talent.
According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Superhuman confirmed the lease Tuesday and has not yet shared details about square footage or timing. The outlet reports that the deal places the company inside Seattle’s expanding artificial intelligence hub, where Class A space and access to technical talent are driving much of the current leasing activity.
Building and location
The lease is at the Dexter Landing campus, the 1000/1100 Dexter Ave. complex, a Class A office property with updated lobbies, outdoor decks, showers and secure bike storage, according to the building’s listing. Dexter Landing also highlights views of Lake Union and walking access to Amazon, the Gates Foundation and Fred Hutch.
Superhuman's Seattle footprint
Although Superhuman is headquartered in San Francisco, it already lists Seattle among its office locations and has been hiring for hybrid roles based in the city. Built In Seattle shows multiple Seattle job postings, suggesting the Westlake lease is designed to support an existing local team rather than a brand-new outpost.
What it means for the market
The Dexter Landing deal fits into a broader trend of Bay Area and AI-focused firms snapping up quality space in South Lake Union and Westlake as landlords lean on amenities to attract talent. Commercial Property Executive notes that the campus changed hands in 2024 and has been marketed to technology tenants for its modern amenities and floorplates.
Superhuman's Westlake office adds another Bay Area name to Seattle's roster of satellite offices and could lead to more local hiring in engineering and product roles. For now, anyone tracking the company’s next moves will want to keep an eye on tenant improvement filings and job listings for more concrete clues on timing and headcount.
