Andy's Frozen Custard is rolling into Alamo Heights, with its first neighborhood shop set to open Wednesday at 8338 Broadway. The spot will bring the chain's vanilla- and chocolate-based concretes, Jackhammers and seasonal specials to the Broadway corridor, aiming straight at the late-night dessert crowd. The new location is designed as both a walk-up window and a drive-thru, so custard fans can get their fix without leaving the car or while stretching their legs.
The chain is known for a denser, egg-yolk-enriched frozen custard, not soft-serve, which delivers a richer texture that customers have chased across Texas. The Alamo Heights outpost continues a local buildout that began when Andy's first arrived in the San Antonio market in 2022.
As reported by CultureMap San Antonio, the Broadway shop will be the fifth Andy's in the San Antonio area. It is scheduled to operate from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and to keep the lights on until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The outlet quotes owner and CEO Andy Kuntz in a release saying, "We couldn't be happier to bring Andy's to Alamo Heights. Our team is ready to welcome neighbors and dessert lovers alike to enjoy our signature frozen custard, seasonal specials, and all the joy that comes with every scoop."
Built For Broadway
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's project page, the Broadway shop is listed as a new 1,757-square-foot drive-thru retail building, with construction activity recorded between October 1, 2025 and February 28, 2026. The state filing names Suelo Dulce Alamo Heights LLC as the owner and lists Joseph Shields as a local contact for the property. Shields, who operates several Andy's locations in the area, told MySA that success at the Rim location helped fuel the brand's local growth.

The staple Andy's lineup, which includes vanilla and chocolate custard served as cones, concretes, sundaes and Jackhammers, is featured on the chain's official store page. That listing currently tags the Broadway address as "Coming Soon" and shows the same operating hours cited by local media, along with a local phone number for the shop.
Opening-Day Notes
When Andy's opened its first San Antonio location at The Rim in May 2022, it ran a free-scoop promotion and drew big crowds, according to MySA. Whether the Alamo Heights storefront sees a similar opening-week surge will hinge on how quickly word travels, but the drive-thru setup and late hours signal a shop clearly built with weekend traffic in mind.
