Casa D'Angelo, the upscale Italian restaurant that anchored Aventura ParkSquare, has closed its Aventura dining room, pulling a popular Tuscan option out of the development. The quiet shutter surprised regulars who had grown used to its roomy patio and deep wine program.
A restaurant representative confirmed the Aventura location had closed "for good," while Google currently lists the business as "temporarily closed," according to Miami Herald. The outlet reports the company did not give a reason for the shutdown and notes the Aventura restaurant opened in the fall of 2019.
Founder and footprint
Casa D'Angelo traces its roots to Chef Angelo Elia, who opened the first restaurant on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale in 1998, per Casa D'Angelo. The brand continues to operate its Fort Lauderdale flagship and a Boca Raton location, and the company highlights a long-running wine program and private dining rooms that were also central to the Aventura concept. The Aventura outpost was the group's most recent South Florida expansion.
What closed and what's left
The Aventura restaurant sat in Aventura ParkSquare next to Bar Taco and was known for its Tuscan menu and an "extravagant" wine list. Restaurant representatives told the Miami Herald the Aventura location was closed for good and did not offer a reason. For now, the Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton Casa D'Angelo locations remain listed as operating.
Where diners can go next
The Casa D'Angelo website continues to list operating locations in Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton and accepts reservations at those venues, according to Casa D'Angelo. Diners looking for the Casa D'Angelo experience will need to head to those locations for now, while the future of the Aventura space remains unannounced.
