According to WJLA, the pursuit began around 12:17 a.m. on June 10 when U.S. Park Police tried to stop a confirmed stolen sedan traveling northbound on the George Washington Memorial Parkway, just north of I-395. Officers used a tire deflation device in an effort to bring the car to a halt, but the driver kept going.
The run finally ended when the sedan crashed onto the northbound I-495 ramp in Fairfax County. After the impact, two people got out and attempted to run from the scene before officers moved in and detained them nearby.
