Brookfield police are investigating after a person was discovered dead inside a car Tuesday in the Pick 'n Save parking lot on W. Greenfield Avenue. The vehicle was parked at the Brookfield Marketplace shopping center at 15170 W. Greenfield Ave. Authorities have not yet released the person's identity or the cause of death.

According to The Freeman, the City of Brookfield Police Department confirmed it has opened a death investigation. In a statement to the paper, Lt. Anthony Gatlin said that "the investigation so far has not revealed any threat to the public" and that officers are working to determine the nature of the death.
