
A stretch of Maynardville Highway in North Knoxville turned into an active police scene Wednesday morning after officers found a man’s body near Black Oak Ridge Lane, according to authorities.
Knoxville Police Department detectives responded to the area and quickly urged nearby residents and drivers to steer clear while they worked the scene. Investigators have not released the man’s identity or said how he died.

According to WVLT, detectives located the body Wednesday and launched an active investigation. The station reports police asked motorists and nearby residents to avoid the area while officers processed the scene.
