Two people were wounded Sunday in a shooting on a rural property outside Bonney Lake, turning a quiet stretch of unincorporated Pierce County into an active crime scene. Both were taken to a Bonney Lake emergency room, where they were treated for injuries that were described as not life‑threatening, and deputies later searched the property as the investigation continued.
What Investigators Say
According to The News Tribune, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carly Cappetto said in an email that the two people arrived at a Bonney Lake emergency room at about 11:09 a.m. Sunday after being shot in the 8000 block of 214th Avenue East in unincorporated Pierce County. Cappetto wrote the individuals were "in an outbuilding on the multi‑acreage property when they were shot."
Evidence at the Scene
Cappetto told The News Tribune the victims' injuries were not life‑threatening and that the pair were "not very cooperative with deputies at the hospital." Deputies went to the address on 214th Avenue East, conducted a safety sweep and located at least one shell casing inside an outbuilding, Cappetto wrote.
