Leon's Caribbean Restaurant has gone dark on East Warrington Avenue after 11 years in business, owner Leon Rose confirmed Thursday. The longtime neighborhood staple in Allentown is now closed, a move the family says comes after a run of hardships that finally became too much to carry.
As reported by WTAE, the Warrington Avenue location at 823 E Warrington Ave is no longer operating. Rose told the station his business had been targeted multiple times since early November, including recent thefts. "I always treat my customers the right way," Rose said back in December. "I'm always friendly with all my customers," and he urged anyone responsible for the thefts to come forward.
Background: Fire, Break-Ins And A Second Location
The Allentown spot had only recently made a comeback after a June 2023 fire that forced a lengthy shutdown, according to Pittsburgh Magazine. Then came more trouble. The restaurant's website also appears inactive.
