Thousands of Lenoir City residents woke up Thursday, June 4, 2026, to a rude surprise: no lights, no coffee, no nothing. A morning LCUB outage cut electricity to more than 2,000 homes and rural properties, disrupting commutes and leaving some neighborhoods without service for part of the morning before crews got the grid humming again.

LCUB’s live outage map at one point showed more than 2,200 customer accounts without service, and the utility said supervisors and line crews were dispatched to locate and repair the problem. According to the Lenoir City Utilities Board, crews updated the map as they worked to re-energize lines across the affected area.

Where the outage hit

According to WBIR, LCUB said the outage impacted Highway 70 West, Hines Valley Road, Old Highway 95, Hotchkiss Valley Road, Sugarlimb Road, Huffs Ferry Road, Hall Road, and Lake-a-Wana, among other nearby streets. The footprint covered both town neighborhoods and rural stretches where crews often face trees and limited access while making repairs.

Restoration and how to report

LCUB said power was restored at 10:07 a.m. Thursday, and that crews remained on site to finish safety checks before leaving. Customers with lingering outages or downed lines were asked to report issues by calling 1-844-Our-LCUB or using the utility’s online outage tools, per the Lenoir City Utilities Board contact page.
