A go-to game day stop for Milwaukee Brewers fans went quiet Monday afternoon, after a blaze at Lucky’s Ice House Bar & Grill forced the longtime tavern to close and pull its shuttle service to American Family Field.
The owners said everyone inside made it out safely, but the doors are staying locked for now. Regulars and pregame crowds who usually pack into the neighborhood spot will have to find a new launch point for the ballpark, at least for the near future.
In a Facebook post, the bar said everyone was safe and that Lucky’s “will not be opening or shuttling to games until further notice.” Local station TMJ4 described the incident as a developing story as crews assessed the damage.
Brewers Area Staple
Lucky’s Ice House, at 4238 W. Orchard St., has been a neighborhood fixture for decades and made its post-pandemic comeback in 2022, according to OnMilwaukee. The outlet traces the tavern’s history back to the 1920s and notes that the current owners tied the Lucky’s name to a nearby bowling alley. On game days, the bar is especially known for its popular shuttle run to and from American Family Field, a ritual for plenty of fans who prefer a barstool to the parking lot.
Damage, Investigation And Timeline
City records list Lucky’s Ice House LLC at the same West Orchard Street address, confirming the business on site, according to the City of Milwaukee licensing list. Officials have not yet released a cause of the fire.
TMJ4 has continued to describe the situation as developing, and the bar has not announced any target date for reopening or resuming shuttle service.
For now, one of the familiar pregame pickup spots for Brewers fans is out of the rotation, and Lucky’s regulars are left to wait out the summer uncertainty. This article will be updated as city officials or the business share more information.
