Police in the Bronx are trying to put names to two faces after a late-night run-in outside an east Bronx bar turned into a gunpoint robbery, according to investigators.
The NYPD says the confrontation unfolded around 2:11 a.m. on May 21 outside Alfa Kitchen & Lounge on East 183rd Street, after four patrons allegedly skipped out on a bar tab. Once the group left the venue, two women confronted them on the sidewalk, police say. How to submit tips
Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), or to submit an anonymous report on the Crime Stoppers website. Tipsters whose information leads to an arrest and indictment may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,500, a figure that has become a standard incentive in recent NYPD bulletins.
Bronx context
The incident occurred within the boundaries of the NYPD's 46th Precinct, which covers parts of the west-central Bronx. City figures indicate that robberies were down in May, and the Bronx has been leading recent borough-level declines, according to a department press release.
Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the women or has door-cam or cellphone video from the area to save the footage and contact Crime Stoppers. They emphasize that members of the public should not attempt to approach the suspects. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
