Brooklyn Park is set to become the new metro home base for St. Cloud State University graduate students, as the school shifts its Twin Cities programs from the Plymouth center to the North Hennepin Community College campus. The relocation is scheduled to kick in on Monday, August 3, 2026, moving SCSU classes into an existing metro college site that comes with fuller campus services. Current students will be contacted directly about updated class locations and schedules, and the programs will remain part of St. Cloud State’s curriculum.

According to WJON, the move is designed to give graduate students at the NHCC campus access to dining options, a fitness center, study areas and library services that were not available at the Plymouth site. The outlet reports that SCSU sees the relocation as a better fit for working professionals who rely on evening and hybrid courses.

What programs are affected

The Twin Cities Graduate Center in Plymouth currently features programs such as Applied Clinical Research, Medical Technology Quality, Regulatory Affairs and a Master of Engineering Management - offerings tailored to part-time students and working professionals. The Plymouth site is described as a technology-enabled, metro location for these graduate programs, according to St. Cloud State University. Those are the programs slated to make the jump to Brooklyn Park.

Why North Hennepin

North Hennepin Community College already has an established relationship with St. Cloud State, with transfer pathways and university-center programs that make the campus a natural landing spot for SCSU’s metro graduate offerings. NHCC marked an EDVANTAGE transfer agreement with St. Cloud State in late 2024 and now hosts joint programs at its Brooklyn Park University Center, according to North Hennepin Community College.

What students should know

Students already enrolled in the affected programs will hear directly from the university about what the move means for their individual schedules and classroom locations, WJON reports. Prospective students are encouraged to check program listings and start dates online. Anyone needing help with registration or course locations can reach out to St. Cloud State admissions or connect with North Hennepin’s University Center for guidance.
