Pickerington is about to get another big-name burger player. Jaggers, the fast-casual burger offshoot of Texas Roadhouse, is headed to the suburb as part of a broader Central Ohio move that includes two planned Columbus-area restaurants this year.
According to Columbus Business First, the company is adding a Pickerington site as one of two upcoming Jaggers locations in the region. The outlet reports that the expansion follows earlier permit activity around Columbus and folds into a growing pipeline of Jaggers openings around the country.
Where the Columbus sites are planned
Jaggers previously filed plans for what would be its first Ohio restaurant near Polaris Fashion Place, with a city permit listing as the intended address, as reported last December by 614Now. That Polaris project appeared to lean heavily on drive-thru service, a layout the brand has favored while moving into new markets. The Pickerington location reported by Columbus Business First would give Jaggers another foothold in the suburbs outside central Columbus.
What Jaggers serves
Jaggers bills itself as a made-to-order burger-and-shake spot, featuring double-stack burgers, hand-breaded chicken sandwiches, salads, and hand-spun milkshakes, according to the chain’s website. The concept highlights scratch-made sauces and freshly cut vegetables as key parts of the menu and operates with both dine-in and drive-thru formats.
Chain growth and local impact
Texas Roadhouse has been stepping on the gas across its brands this year. The company told investors in May that it had opened multiple company-owned and franchise locations and has dozens more under construction. The move into Columbus fits that growth strategy and adds another national fast-casual option to busy area retail corridors, according to the company’s May investor release.
What’s next
There is still no firm opening date on the books. The Pickerington project remains in the planning phase, according to Columbus Business First. Expect more details once permits are filed or the company shares a construction timeline.
