Gunfire tore through Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion neighborhood early Saturday when a car on the 2900 block of West Gordon Street was sprayed with bullets, leaving a woman and a man wounded. Police said the woman, described as in her late 20s, was hit multiple times and a man in his mid-20s was also shot. Both were rushed to nearby hospitals and are listed in stable condition. Investigators recovered what they described as dozens of spent shell casings from the street.

According to NBC10 Philadelphia, the shooting unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. The woman was shot at least seven times, and the male victim also suffered gunshot wounds, police told the station. NBC10 reports both victims were taken to local hospitals, where they were placed in stable condition. As of now, police have not released any information about potential suspects or a possible motive, while detectives continue to work the scene and speak with witnesses.

6abc reported officers arrived to find a 28-year-old woman lying in the middle of Gordon Street near Myrtlewood, suffering from a graze wound to the head along with multiple other gunshot injuries. A man tied to the same incident showed up at Temple University Hospital with gunshot wounds. Investigators told the station they believe the victims had been inside a vehicle that was riddled with roughly 29 bullet holes, and that about 40 spent shell casings were recovered at the scene. Detectives are still canvassing the block for video and witnesses as the investigation remains active.
Neighborhood context
The shooting is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Strawberry Mansion this year. Hoodline previously covered gunfire ripping through Oakdale Street that left two people hurt, as well as a separate May street clash that turned deadly.
