The winning numbers for the May 18 Cash 5 drawing were 29-32-36-40-42, with odds of hitting all five at roughly 1 in 962,598, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery. Morgan had bought his ticket online and, in the middle of a delivery, decided to pull over and check the results. He told lottery officials about that roadside reveal, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
