Frutella, a Colombian bakery-café known for its pandebono desserts, is lining up what appears to be its third Florida location at 1333 Florida Mall Ave in Orlando. If the deal is finalized, the cafe would replace a smoke shop and add another breakfast-and-dessert option to the already busy Florida Mall corridor.
Plan-review documents filed under the name Frutella Orlando LLC point to work on the unit at 1333 Florida Mall Ave, as reported by WhatNow. State records likewise show FRUTELLA ORLANDO LLC was incorporated in March and list 1333 Florida Mall Avenue as its principal address, according to BISProfiles. Co-owner Nathalie Alvarez was not immediately available for comment when contacted about the project, per WhatNow.
Menu and local footprint
Frutella’s menu leans hard into Colombian comfort sweets, centering on pandebono cake and pandebono waffles, along with pasteles de guayaba, arepas, and coffee, according to Frutella. The brand currently lists locations in Kissimmee and Riverview, with online ordering available for both spots through its site.
Space and neighbors
The space at 1333 Florida Mall Ave has recently housed Cloud 07 Smoke Shop, and state corporate records list Cloud 07 Inc at the same address. If Frutella moves in, it will join a stretch that already includes El Cilantrillo, Simon Parrilla, Chili’s and The Licking, according to WhatNow.
Timeline and permits
Plan-review activity indicates a tenant-improvement application is in the works for the site. Orlando’s commercial plan-review process, however, is not exactly speedy, and reviews can stretch several weeks or months depending on project scope and corrections required. Local permitting guides note that commercial reviews commonly run six to eight weeks or longer, with timelines varying by project and review cycles.
Follow up
Frutella has not yet announced an official opening date for the potential Orlando outpost. Updates are likely to land first on Instagram at @frutellaofcl_ or on the Frutella website.
